Our client is a world recognised brand and due to continued growth they urgently require a skilled Generator Engineer / Electrically Bias Service Engineer to cover the Kent & North Sussex Regions.

The successful Service Engineer will provide service and support for a wide range of Electrical Power Generation (EPG) equipment, working on plant ranging from gas engines, through to rotary UPS, and CHP thermal systems. The Electrical Power Generation Service Engineer must give us the flexibility to support a variety of complex systems, as installed by our client (UK), as well as third party installations.


Main Duties
• To carry out service and repair work on a range of heavyplant power generation equipment, and control systems. Work ranging from routine servicing, to in-frame overhaul of engines, ranging from 500Kw to 2000Kw.        
• Taking responsibility for local installations, you will be expected to maintain high performance and reliability of generators and their associated plant. You will also form part of a local team, providing call out cover for certain contract sites.        
• To carry out fault diagnosis in an efficient and methodical way, on equipment ranging from control panels, to aftermarket fuel systems.        
• By diagnosing conditions and failures accurately and quickly, you will keep company operating costs to a minimum, while maximising machine output and production for our customers.        
• To build and maintain good working relationships with customers, and by engaging with those customers; to seek further work opportunities.        
• To provide a point of communication between customers and your controller or supervisor, enabling efficient planning of any further works which may need to be co-ordinated.        
• To ensure that all related job and service documentation is correctly completed and any necessary signatures/documents obtained from the customer.

Skills
The job requires detailed knowledge and experience working with gas and diesel engines, ideally including larger units up to several thousand horse power.
Good understanding of power generation principles and electrical fundamentals.
In addition to the above; a broad understanding of systems interaction, including governor controls, and PLC systems, and advanced gas engine fuel systems.
Additionally, the job requirements can also be met by a full engineering apprenticeship with C&G level II type qualifications.
