  • We are currently requiring a CNC or Manual Miller or Turner to become part of our clients expanding, enthusiastic and successful team.
  • The CNC Miller or Turner needs to have had previous experience on Heidenhain, Haas or Siemens controls, working a variety of milling or turning machines.
  • The CNC Miller or Turner must be able to set and operate the relevant CNC machines, as well as edit exiting programmes. It is not essential that the CNC Miller or Turner is able to make new programmes up from engineering drawings, however, this would be looked at favorably.
  • The CNC Miller or Turner would be producing small batches, up to 20 pieces and 1 off's for a variety of industries, including furniture manufacturers and the nuclear industry.
  • The Manual Miller or Turner must have experience of working with a variety of materials including mild steel, stainless steel, aluminium and brass, working to tolerances of +/- 0.2mm.
  • It would be necessary for the Manual Miller or Turner to have used measuring equipment to check their own work for the accurate tolerances.
  • Ideally, the CNC or Manual Miller or Turner would be apprentice trained or time served.
  • The role requires the CNC or Manual Miller or Turner to work 39 hours per week with the possibility of overtime.

Successful Parts Department Supervisors must be able to prioritise workloads, be very numerate, logical in approach to work and have very good admin skills, including completion of paperwork. Candidates for the Parts Department Supervisor must be computer literate, good with the Microsoft Package, and hold a full driving licence.

Daily Tasks and Responsibilities of the Parts Department Supervisor include; responsibility for sourcing and issuing parts as required, management of inventory to optimised levels, ensuring minimal inventory levels and cost whilst ensuring service delivery levels are maintained.

The Parts Department Supervisor must process warranty claims and warranty return processes, whilst implementing and managing the group stock management system.

The Parts Department Supervisor will be working with the Stores Operatives, and be reporting to the Engineering Manager and the Purchasing Manager.

Due to growth our globally established client are now looking for a Customer Service Engineer to manage customer service representatives in two new departments , of which are based in their south Birmingham office and their French premises. The UK office will consist of 3-4 employees with the French offices consisting of 9-10 employees.
The appropriate candidate will be expected to regularly commute between these two locations and occasionally visit other locations world-wide. It is anticipated that during the first 6 months of employment that they will spend two weeks per month in France and two in the UK. Once stabilization and smooth running of the French department has been achieved it is likely that attendance in France will reduce to one week per month.
The role requires a confident, professional individual with drive and vigour who understands and has the ability to work under pressure and achieve time driven results.
The ideal Background will be from the service or manufacturing sector, but must be business orientated and have international/multi-lingual/currency experience.
Must have the personality to successfully lead teams by gaining willing co-operation, but the personal strength to stand resolute when this is not forthcoming.
Product and company training will be offered to the candidate, but it is anticipated that they will already have the full range of knowledge and aptitudes to be able to become effective almost immediately.
The capability to communicate in French is foremost but would be withdrawn for the most exceptional candidate.

Position Summary
Oversee and direct the whole groups Customer Service Departments activities through frequent multi-site attendance and by managing and implementing the required duties.

Skills and Abilities
• Understanding of what constitutes best in class customer service.

• Ability to read and write fluently in both English and French. Additional languages would be a bonus.

• Have a high degree of numerical competence and able to calculate discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume with ease and confidence.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

• Prior experience implementing a CRM program, or has worked in a CRM environment.

The successful Service Engineer will provide service and support for a wide range of Electrical Power Generation (EPG) equipment, working on plant ranging from gas engines, through to rotary UPS, and CHP thermal systems. The Electrical Power Generation Service Engineer must give us the flexibility to support a variety of complex systems, as installed by our client (UK), as well as third party installations.


Main Duties
• To carry out service and repair work on a range of heavyplant power generation equipment, and control systems. Work ranging from routine servicing, to in-frame overhaul of engines, ranging from 500Kw to 2000Kw.        
• Taking responsibility for local installations, you will be expected to maintain high performance and reliability of generators and their associated plant. You will also form part of a local team, providing call out cover for certain contract sites.        
• To carry out fault diagnosis in an efficient and methodical way, on equipment ranging from control panels, to aftermarket fuel systems.        
• By diagnosing conditions and failures accurately and quickly, you will keep company operating costs to a minimum, while maximising machine output and production for our customers.        
• To build and maintain good working relationships with customers, and by engaging with those customers; to seek further work opportunities.        
• To provide a point of communication between customers and your controller or supervisor, enabling efficient planning of any further works which may need to be co-ordinated.        
• To ensure that all related job and service documentation is correctly completed and any necessary signatures/documents obtained from the customer.

Skills
The job requires detailed knowledge and experience working with gas and diesel engines, ideally including larger units up to several thousand horse power.
Good understanding of power generation principles and electrical fundamentals.
In addition to the above; a broad understanding of systems interaction, including governor controls, and PLC systems, and advanced gas engine fuel systems.
Additionally, the job requirements can also be met by a full engineering apprenticeship with C&G level II type qualifications.

Working wiithin the Power Systems product group, the role of the Diesel Engineer will be to maximise the operational availability and performance for the customer of heavy plant and similar product by investigating and understanding the link between the product and the customer systems tied to it and then investigating, understanding and eliminating any failed/faulty operation of the product such that the fix is as rapid and cost effective as possible while ensuring continued safe and effective operation for the foreseeable future.

Main Duties
• To attend customer locations as directed by the company controller, there liaising with customer staff as necessary to gain access to the heavy plant product, to understand the link between the product and customer controls/equipment and to discuss how any malfunction has manifested itself.

• To decide the degree to which the heavy plant product is contributing to malfunction, assess the likely scope of the in-situ work needed to investigate and rectify the possible cause(s), to agree with the customer their likely input to the work required, especially where the customer’s controls/equipment are involved, and to sort out safe working arrangements.

• Both at outset and as in-situ work progresses, to liaise with company controller and the customer about the job so that there is clarity and understanding by all parties about the likely time and cost of work and the logistics of obtaining needed parts etc., recommending if and how an engine be removed where this judged a better option.

• Working cost effectively, to as quickly as possible identify and rectify the causes of component/product malfunction, providing a safe and sound short term fix if this in the customers best interests and, if needed, contacting company technical support personnel for advice.

• To ensure that all work complies with sound engineering standards and, as relevant, company/manufacturer specification/tolerances, carrying out inspection/checks on own work as it proceeds and ensuring that the equipment performs satisfactorily and is safe before handing back to the customer.

• To prepare and install engines, carry out installation audits, overhaul engines and perform scheduled maintenance work, liaising with the customer and comoany controller and working to the same general service requirements and standards as for repair work.

• In order to produce the optimum operating performance from an in-situ engine in line with customer requirement (without jeopardising warranties) or specification, to accurately measure and interpret the full range of engine input, output and condition parameters and change engine settings/components etc. within manufacturer tolerance/specification.

• Where, while working on the equipment, the need can be seen for an early re-visit or for useful or essential further work in the short term, to engage the customer and/or liaise with the company controller so that the extent, likely cost and timing for such work can be settled.

• To ensure that all related job and service documentation is correctly completed and any necessary signatures/documents obtained from the customer.
 
Skills
•  The job requires a thorough practical knowledge, insight and experience working with diesel engines, ideally including larger units up to several thousand horse power.  A working knowledge of a wide range of linkages between engines and other systems/equipment is required, if necessary sufficient such knowledge being acquired within the first 6 months by working alongside experienced engineers.

• Alternatively, the job requirements can be met by a full engineering apprenticeship with C&G level II type qualifications and 12 months’ guided experience gaining once in the job

This role will involve travelling offshore and abroad and is compensated for in the package provided.

The engineer will need to attend and carryout diagnostics checks on electric vehicles in accordance with advice and instruction provided by electrical engineers.

As well as carrying out mechanical repairs and the engineer would be required to liaise with suppliers and customers on technical advise.

The role will involve travelling throughout the UK and there may be the occasional need to travel to Europe The role may require the need for overnight stays. Initial product training familiarization may require a two / three week period abroad or at our head office in Glasgow. You would develop a full understanding of Electric Vehicle product technology and manufacturing process (after training).

The main daily tasks for the required Regional Warranty Engineer would be:
Coordinating & prioritizing warranty repairs
~ Reporting details of repairs and follow up repairs waiting on parts
